Kwells Junior (also called Kwells Kids) is an over-the-counter medicine for the prevention and treatment of travel sickness in children. The tablets melt quickly in the mouth for rapid absorption and are intended for use on various types of transport, including cars, planes, and boats.
Directions for use
- Children 4 to 10 years old: Give half to one tablet every six hours, as needed. Do not exceed 1.5 to 3 tablets in 24 hours.
- Children over 10 years old: Give one or two tablets every six hours, as needed. Do not exceed 3 to 6 tablets in 24 hours.
Warnings and possible side effects
- Age restriction: Kwells Junior is generally not recommended for children under 4 years old. Australian guidelines may allow for children as young as 2, so always check the product information for your specific region.
- Drowsiness: The medicine may cause drowsiness, and children should not be left unattended after taking it.
- Other common side effects include dry mouth, blurred vision, and dizziness.
- Conditions to be aware of: Do not use Kwells Junior if the child has glaucoma, intestinal blockage (paralytic ileus), myasthenia gravis, or an enlarged prostate gland. For other conditions, including heart, liver, or kidney problems, or if the child suffers from seizures or Down's syndrome, consult a doctor first.
- Drug interactions: Inform a doctor or pharmacist if your child is taking other medications, especially other antihistamines, antidepressants, or antibiotics, as Kwells Junior may interact with them.
