Inosita Plus 50/1000mg is a prescription medication used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It contains a combination of two active ingredients: Sitagliptin and Metformin HCI.

Important warnings

• Lactic acidosis: A serious and potentially fatal side effect associated with metformin, where too much lactic acid builds up in the body. The risk is higher with kidney or liver disease, dehydration, excessive alcohol consumption, and heart failure.
• Pancreatitis: Sitagliptin can increase the risk of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), which can be severe. Tell your doctor if you have ever had pancreatitis, gallstones, alcoholism, high triglyceride levels, or kidney problems.
• Hypoglycemia: Low blood sugar can occur, especially if this medication is taken with insulin or a sulfonylurea.
• Kidney damage: Use with caution in patients with kidney problems, as dose adjustments may be necessary. It is not recommended for those with moderate to severe renal impairment.
• Heart failure: Sitagliptin may increase the risk of heart failure. Monitor for symptoms like shortness of breath and swelling.
