Ganfort 3ml is an eye drop solution prescribed to lower high pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure) for adults with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The medication combines two active ingredients, bimatoprost and timolol, to help prevent vision damage and blindness.

Application and dosage

• Administration: It is for external use only. Wash your hands before using.
• Frequency: The recommended dose is typically one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, ideally at the same time each day.
• Instructions: To apply, hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch, squeeze the dropper to release one drop, and then gently close the eye. To minimize systemic absorption, press a finger against the corner of your closed eye for two minutes.
• Missed dose: If you miss a dose, continue with the next scheduled dose as planned.
• Other eye drops: Wait at least 5 to 10 minutes between using Ganforte and any other eye drops. 

Potential side effects

• Most common side effects: Eye redness (conjunctival hyperaemia), stinging or burning sensation, eye itching, and eyelash growth.
• Other side effects:
• Change in iris color.
• Darkening of eyelids and eyelashes.
• Dry eyes, blurred vision, or visual disturbance.
• Headache.
• Serious side effects: As the active ingredients can be absorbed into the bloodstream, it is possible to experience side effects similar to those of oral beta-blockers, such as effects on the heart.
• Consult a doctor: If side effects are severe or persistent, contact your doctor.

Important warnings

• Prescription only: Use this medication exactly as prescribed by a doctor.
• Contact lenses: Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
• Driving: Since it can cause temporary blurred vision, you should not drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after use.
• Pregnancy: It may be unsafe during pregnancy; consult your doctor before use.
