Klacid 500mg is an antibiotic that contains the active ingredient clarithromycin. It is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections and is available by prescription only. 

Uses

• Respiratory infections: Such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, and pharyngitis.
• Skin and soft tissue infections: Such as cellulitis, impetigo, and folliculitis.
• H. pylori infection: Used in combination with other medications to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori.
• Other infections: It can also be used for certain dental infections and to treat or prevent disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infection, a type of lung infection common in people with HIV. 

Dosage and administration

• How to take it: The tablets should be swallowed whole with water and should not be chewed or crushed.
• Duration: Take the full course of medication, even if your symptoms improve. Stopping too early can cause the infection to return and may lead to antibiotic resistance.
• Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your regular schedule.
