Jameson Black Barrel is the distillery’s tribute to its coopers, who painstakingly give their first fill bourbon barrels an additional charring to reveal their untold richness and complexity. It is a special version of the core expression with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey, double charred bourbon casks and sherry casks in the mix. Time spent maturing in these barrels leads to intensified aromas of butterscotch, fudge, malt and toffee as well as rich flavours of peaches, spices, nuts, and vanilla.
